In this episode of Mission 309, we're highlighting the United Way of Pekin, Illinois. This United Way's mission is to increase the organized capacity of people to care for one another, and they do just that!

Their Executive Director, Heather Robertson, joins the show to discuss the history of Pekin's United Way and how there has always been a need, and always will be for people to support each other. The United Way of Pekin has a very difficult task of taking donations and distributing them to many organizations that are serving our communities basic needs in education, financial stability and medical care! There are always more needs than there is money for support, so their board has to help decided where these funds make the most impact right here in the community.
